Typed Work (final OR draft copy)
1. ALWAYS save your work (don't erase or delete
anything until you have gotten your grade.)
2. You
MUST DOUBLE-SPACE your work. Set the line spacing to 2, or ask your teacher for
help.
3. Use only 12 point font. Choose a simple font, such as Times New Roman
or Arial. NO fancy fonts! Do not use a font that is difficult to read or
that is in all capital letters.
4. Make sure that your name and class period is
typed at the top of the page. Center the
title of your paper. Do NOT use clip
art, pictures or borders unless your teacher has told you to do so.
5. Use the tab key to begin each paragraph. Ask for help, if needed.
6. Type one space after a comma (,). Type two spaces after a period.
7. NEVER hit the 'Enter' key to end a line of
typing unless it is the last sentence of the paragraph.
8. Left justify your work (do not center). Ask for help, if needed.
9. Always use spell-check before you print your
work. THEN print and re-read what you
have typed. Spell check does not catch
every mistake and does not correct for an incorrect homonym.
10. Print
using BLACK ink on WHITE paper.
11. Turn
in a clean copy, free from errors.
12. If you do not have a printer at home, use a
flash drive (you may borrow one from Ms. Mason) and make sure to print BEFORE
you come to class. Ask your teacher for
help in how to save onto a flash drive, if needed.
Hand Written Work (final OR
draft copy)
1. Final copy must be written in blue or black
ink - no pencil. Draft copy may be in
pencil.
2. You must skip lines when writing.
3. Only write on one side of the page. Do not write on the back. Number each of your pages.
4. Make sure that your name and class period is
on the first page.
5. Indent paragraphs (about an inch).
6. Always re-read and check for errors.
7. Turn in a clean copy, free from errors.
