Last June, the Salk boys' lacrosse team won their final game of the year defeating Wisdom Lane Middle School 15 to 4, to cap an undefeated season of 9 wins and zero losses. This is a feat that has not been accomplished in the recent history of the lacrosse program.

The boys scored an impressive 124 goals in the nine game season, while only allowing 21 goals against, paying special tribute to the team's outstanding defense and goalies. Captains leading the team included eighth-graders Nicholas DelGrosso, James Napoli, Adrian Nowak, Matthew Papach and John Rebaudo. Coaches John Pollack and Michael Marrero congratulate the boys on an unprecedented accomplishment and wish them the best of luck and success at the high school level this year.

2017 Season Re-Cap

The 2017 season ended with a convincing win against Hewlett-Woodmere 16-5 on their home turf.  Our 43 man roster ALL contributed to this dynamic win.  Seahawks season summary was a 6 WIN 1 LOSS record; one of the best in over a decade.  This is in large part due to the dedication and hard work our team displayed throughout the course of the season.  A huge thanks to our captains Joe Misuraca, Brian Connolly, and Matthew Cevetello.  Best of luck at the high school level boys!  Coach Marrero and myself commend you all on a job well done, and look forward to the future of Generals Lacrosse and Seahawk lacrosse future stars!

The 2016 season ended with a tough loss against Plainview by a score of 10-9.  Seahawks season summary was a 5 win 4 loss record.  More importantly, the team learned the importance of "setting the tone" from the start of the game, and picking up their teammates when not everyone is playing up to their potential.  Captains Nick Dougherty and Dan Calderon instilled pride in their teammates and led by example. Defense had a fantastic season, with 3 of the 4 losses lost by 3 goals or less.  Our offense netted over 85 goals in 9 games. Lots of credit to our lone goalie, 7th grader Matthew Cevetello.  See you next season!  Best of luck to our "rising 9th graders" at the JV level.  Stick with it!

Read about our 2015 Season Here!
Salk finished the 2015 season with their 5th straight win against Wheatley on a soggy MacArthur field June 1st. Salk finished the season with a 6 win 2 loss and 1 tie record.  One of the best in recent years.
The turning point in the season came against an always strong Bethpage team where Salk walked away with a hard fought 12 to 12 tie. The team "streaked" after that, giving them the confidence that propelled them to win 5 in a row. We grew as a team, learned more about the game of lacrosse, and discovering the true meanings of "hard work" and "perseverance."
Coach Pollack and Coach Kenny would like to wish the very best to our outgoing 8th graders and send a special thanks to our captains Danny Wilson, Trent Knapp and Robert Mayer on upholding their duties as team captains. Best of luck at JV guys!
Rising 8th Graders and Rising 7th Graders should continue to play over the summer and go to camp as well as coach Berg's skills camp (see Mr. Pollack for flyer). "Work a Wall" or find a friend to catch with.
Our goal is always to improve the skill level and overall team play to build for the future of Generals Lacrosse. Thank You to all of the parents for all of their support of our Salk Lacrosse season.
