·        Use Text Evidence to answer the following questions.

1.      Why is it important to know the differences between the coral snake’s stripes and a king snake’s stripes?

2.      Reread the information on the Western Diamond -Backed Rattlesnake.  What does the word inject mean?

3.      According to the chart on page 278, which snake is venomous and where is it found?

4.      Using the chart on page 278, write 3 factual sentences about snakes. 

Optional:  How to Make Clay with Flour: To make a Reptile etc……

Materials: 2 cups of flour, 1 cup of salt, 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, ¾ to 1 cup of water, food coloring optional

1.     In a large bowl mix flour and salt.  2.  Add the oil, and slowly add the water and stir until you get a nice clay consistency.   3.  For different colors, separate the clay and place them each in a bowl.  Add a couple drops of food coloring and mix well with a spoon.    Be prepared that food coloring may stain your fingers while working with it.  4.  Once completely mixed, make into desired shapes.  5.  Bake in the oven at 250 degree for approximately one hour.  Kee p an eye on your piece, bake it long enough to harden but not start to burn.  TIPS:  Don’ make your clay projects to thick, or they will crack.  Use cookie cutters to make more precise shapes.  For a golden appearance, brush your clay with egg yolk before placing it in the oven.  After banking, decorate your projects with acrylic paint.
